RF3A Performance ECU
  1. Q What EMS system RF3A applicable?
  2. A: Only applicable on Continental/Synerject M3A EMS system at this moment.

  3. Q What is the retailer price of RF3A? Any discount?

  4. Q What parameters are adjustable?
    A:Able to adjust following items:
    • Fuel adjustment
    • Ignition Spark Advance adjustment
    • O2 Clos/Open loop range adjustment
    • VACS/VVCS or switchable Valve on exhaust pipe

  5. Q Unlock engine speed limitation?
  6. A: Yes, the stock ECU will retard Spark Advance quite late after 9,000 rpm(some model even worse, earlier from 8,000 rpm), and your engine speed will stuck around 9,000 rpm and not able to go further. Our Performance ECU had recovered the Spark Advance to the normal setting, and the engine speed are able to go to till 11,000 rpm fuel cut off. If have special requirement, ex. race engine which your valve train already reinforced and able to sustain such higher engine speed, and your camshaft have special design which Max. power happened engine speed already above fuel cut off, then you can have a special order, RFECU performance ECU which support to 16,000 rpm fuel cut off. Till now, not able to see in the after market have these kind of engine parts available which able to sustain such high engine speed.

  7. Q How much power able to increase with RF3A performance ECU?
  8. A: with stock engine without any modification, just exchange performance ECU, 10% increase for Euro3 models, and 15% increase for 15% models.

  9. Q Beside Performance, any other parts need to change?
  10. A: Not necessary. No need to change the throttle body, not need to change the wire harness, even bore up till 180 c.c. engine displacement still can use stock fuel injector, everything is perfectly fit.
    A: For SYM models, the throttle body glued with stock ECU, will recommend to buying KYMCO rubber seal for throttle body assembly with Performance ECU. And, as the diagnostic connector on SYM Euro 3 models is different, need to buy an adaptor wire for Bluetooth adaptor.

  1. Q Will have more cells for editing the fuel & Ignition in the future?
  2. A: General version will keep currently 3x3 cells each for Fuel and Ignition, which already could fit mostly usage. Plan to have the professional version for professional racing team for race only, the cell will have 18x16 at least, and the parameters adjustable will over 1,000.

  3. Q . Does able to read engine data, ex. engine speed, TPS..etc?
  4. A: APP 1.0(Free) not support this function. APP 2.0(Payware) are able to read and log over 60 engine parameters. 。

  5. Q What to do if Bluetooth connection fail?
  6. A:if Key-On too long, ex. over 20 sec without attempt to connect, the Bluetooth will automatic shutdown for power saving. Please Key-off(over 5 sec) and key-on, attempt to reconnect.

  7. Q What to do if have engine knocking after tunning?
  8. A: Please retard the spark ignition, generally should advance offset more than 10∘CRK over stock maps.

Diagnostic Fault Code(DTC code)
  1. Q How to read DTC code?
  2. A: For KYMCO high end models, they are able to display the DTC code when you key-on without starting the engine. For general model, you need to count the engine check lamp flash light by yourself. With 1 long illuminate(1 sec) means 10, and 1 short illuminate means 1(0.5 sec), count how much long illuminate and short illuminate, then you will know the DTC code. Ex. TPS 04 DTC, it will flash 4 short illumination.

    With APP 2.0, you are able to read the DTC code, content and instruction on your smart phone.

  3. Q What it mean throttle position sensor output range error?
  4. A: That is TPS 04 DTC code, TPS sensor error. !

    RF3A with reinforce structure for TPS, will never have TPS sensor fail issue.
